BE TODAY THE GARDENER OF TOMORROW

overview

VIGI is a Gardening App

Designed to help novice and experienced gardeners alike grow healthy, beautiful plants in their own backyard.

With a comprehensive plant database, users can search for and learn about a variety of plants. The app also features a garden planner tool that allows users to create and customize their own garden beds, including choosing the right plants for their location and desired sun exposure.

In addition, the app offers personalized care reminders and tips, including watering schedules and fertilization recommendations, to help users keep their plants thriving.

The Problem

Current Pain Points

There are many reasons why people might struggle to maintain a vegetable garden. Some common problems include:

Lack of Time

Maintaining a vegetable garden requires regular watering, weeding, and pruning, which can be time-consuming.

Poor Soil Quality

Vegetables require well-draining, nutrient-rich soil in order to thrive. If the soil in your garden is poor quality, it can be difficult to grow healthy plants.

Lack of Sunlight

Most vegetables require plenty of sunlight in order to grow properly. If your garden is located in a shady spot, it may be difficult to grow a successful vegetable garden.

Poor Planning

Without a solid plan in place, it can be difficult to know what to plant, when to plant it, and how to care for it. This can lead to a lack of success in a vegetable garden.

Inconsistent Watering

Over- or under-watering can lead to a range of problems in a vegetable garden, including wilting, disease, and death of plants.

Pest or Disease Problems

Pests and diseases can cause significant damage to vegetables, making it difficult to maintain a healthy garden.
The Solution

An Integrated Platform

A convenient, user-friendly interface that accompanies you through all the growing stages
An alert system that notifies you of weather changes and upcoming tasks
Using the wisdom of the masses and sharing knowledge
User flow

Creating New User

I decided to focus on the new gardner journey by putting a special emphasis on setting up a garden and monitoring the plants.

The flow chart below illustrates the options, actions and decisions the gardener needs to make along the way.

onboarding

Feel The Soil

The journey that the user goes through, on several screens, from the moment the vegetable is planted in the garden until he receives it on the plate.

garden Set up

Size and Shape

Marking in a two-dimensional graphic form that shows the outline of the garden makes it easier for the user to know where to plant the plants that fit next to each other and in what season.

Dashboard

Your Garden's Homepage

I chose to show the garden in a slightly different way:

Three-dimensionality configuration that brings more life to the garden and makes the experience more interesting and realistic.

Every item is clickable, which makes it easy to control your progress.

Category selection

Choose a Veggie

The categories screen continues in the same figurative language that shows the vegetable families you can choose from.

Monitoring

Routine Check

You can click on each item in the garden and see the stages of development for each vegetable separately, as well as tasks and alerts that must be implemented in order to get successful produce.

Notification

Get Notifications

Every time there is a weather anomaly you get a notification that alerts you and gives you tips for what to do in each situation.

Tasks

Follow and Get Things Done

For a successful garden the user needs to complete the tasks that the plants require. I chose to show this section as a calendar that marks the future actions to be carried out and also a task board that shows the journey we are going through with the plant. This contains tasks, the option to upload photos and more.
